What do I need to add to the length, height and depth to cover of an existing mantel?

You would need to make sure that you add 2.5" to the height and 1.5" to the depth/projection of your current mantel measurements to make sure you have enough room to cover your existing mantel. The length you could add 1 to 2" on each end to make sure you have enough room for coverage.
