Grout or skim coat?

I am wondering if this product can take a skim coat of grout similar to partially exposed brick wall
Will a typical grout material adhere to this product?

This product is not made to be skim coated or grouted. Opus Herringbone Faux Brick Wall Panels are attached using adhesive and screws or Great Stuff foam, depending upon the surface. Skim coating or grouting would void the warranty, compromising the wall panels' integrity.
