Our products are decorative and not structural. Anything that is hung will need to be secured directly into the studs. Also if the fireplace is a heat source (not just decorative) you will need to follow the fireplace manufacturer's instructions for required clearances of combustible materials (Class B). You also must adhere to any, and all, building and/or fire codes concerning clearances that are applicable in your area.
