How do I install on the exterior of my home? End Grain Faux Wood Wall Panel

I was interested in using this to cover the cinderblock foundation of my house & also to put at the bottom of the columns on my front porch.
My questions are how well does this hold up outdoors & also how well does it hold up if using at the foundation of a home & a person would be using a weed eater to cut grass next to house? Would we need to build flower beds or something to keep weeds away from the panels?
Could the panels be cut down & cut in a miter to apply around columns?

These panels are interior/exterior and will do well outdoors. The wear and tear of weedwhacker is not ideal so we recommend a landscape border like you mention.
