How thick is the material for Faux Wood Beams?
Timber Faux Wood Beams
I am capping an existing dry walled over header that cuts a bathroom ceiling in half.
How thick are the walls of this product? The specs say add about 2 inches for inside dimensions so does that mean I should account for wall thickness of 1 inch, or should I add a quarter inch to each wall for margin for any bulges or lack of perfect flatness of either the beam or drywall?
Thank you.

We recommend adding 2-2 1/2 inches to the size of the dims listed on our product to allow for variations in the beam or the item which you are covering. Our product walls are 1'' thick with a variance of +/- 1/4''. So for the width each side is 1'' with the possible variance which is why we recommend the above.
