The fire-rated polyurethane looks exactly the same as the regular polyurethane but exceeds the testing requirements to achieve a Class A fire rating. Our products can be used near fireplaces & wood stoves but with restrictions. Our faux wood mantels are made of high-density polyurethane and are combustible. When installed around a fireplace opening/insert, and/or stove, you must follow the fireplace insert/stove manufacturer's specifications for required clearances of Class B materials. You also must adhere to any, and all, building and/or fire codes concerning clearances that are applicable in your area.
